About me and what I do
My name is Julianne Ess and I am an artist, DJ, and tarot reader hailing from Winnipeg and currently living in Toronto, Canada, creating work under the moniker Foot-to-Face (like a powerful high kick, or as in 'head-to-toe').
I offer personalized readings, blending tarot, numerology, astrology, and intuitive insights to connect you to your own intuition, creativity, and self-determination. You can find me reading at the Underpass Park Farmers Market, at private parties (Halloween, NYE, etc), and online.
In DJ form, I conjure dance floors for goths at The Dance Cave (The Dark Eighties, Vampire Disko) and I hold a monthly residency at Swan Dive. I also love to play for weddings, private events, and invite-only covid-conscious house parties.
My art practice manifests as collage, painting, zines, stop-motion animation, and screen-printing. My best-known design is the Guillotine Dream t-shirts which have been in circulation since May 2019, which I print by hand in my home art studio. I also host Art Club, a monthly drink-n-draw night, which takes place on second Sundays at Swan Dive, 6pm-8pm.
